Common questions
What is a periodontist?
A periodontist is a dentist who has completed additional years of specialty training in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gum disease, and in the placement and care of dental implants.
Do I need a referral?
Many patients are referred by their dentist, but a referral is not required. You can request a consultation directly.
Will I still see my regular dentist?
Yes. We work alongside your dentist. Routine care and restorations return to their office, and we share our findings and plans with them.
Does treatment hurt?
Procedures are performed with local anesthesia. For eligible patients, sedation is available through an independent, licensed anesthesia group. We explain what to expect and how discomfort will be managed before every procedure.
Which office should I visit?
Choose whichever is most convenient. Each office lists its doctors and hours on its location page.
