Implant site development

Sinus Lift (Sinus Augmentation)

In the upper back jaw, the sinus floor can sit close to the ridge, leaving too little bone for an implant. A sinus lift gently raises the sinus membrane and places graft material beneath it.

Approaches

Depending on how much bone is needed, a sinus lift may be performed through a small window on the side of the ridge (lateral approach) or through the implant site itself (crestal approach). Sometimes the implant can be placed at the same visit.

Recovery

You will receive instructions to protect the sinus while it heals, such as avoiding forceful nose-blowing. We review these carefully before and after the procedure.
